How to Freeze/Stop Background Apps in Android Gingerbread

Android ICS and Jelly Bean has a feature to stop apps from application manager. But Gingerbread users doesn't have this option. Some useless apps will be running in background consuming Ram. Any way to stop these background apps? Even though there are tons of task managers available, most of them kill apps. but after a few seconds it reopens. So the ultimate solution for this is freeze or stop apps. Since Gingerbread doesn't have this built in feature, your phone must be rooted.   1. Download and Install Link2Sd
  2. Open Link2sd
  3. Long press on the app which you want to freeze/stop
  4. From the menu list select 'Freeze'
  5. Done.
